Lighting utilises roughly 25% of the power generated nationally so you can help by installing low energy and power saving light bulbs.
Just changing a convential lightbulb to a low energy option could cut energy wasteage by 75% and save £9 on your energy bill. There are numerous options including compact fluorescent and LED light bulbs which both offer appreciable energy savings. LED bulbs afford the greater saving by consuming less energy and lasting longer at approximately 60,000 hours, however a greater initial investment is required.
